What to Expect at a Class

What is meditation and what are its benefits?

The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful we shall be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we shall experience true happiness. By training in meditation we can gradually learn to stay peaceful all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances.

If we practice meditation we will experience a calm, spacious feeling in the mind, and many of our usual problems will fall away. Difficult situations will become easier to deal with, we will naturally feel warm and well disposed towards other people, and our relationships with others will gradually improve.

What happens in our meditation classes

Our practical introductory classes teach how to develop positive states of mind in meditation and how to integrate this experience into daily life. The courses we run are suitable for everyone, regardless of background and experience.

Each course explores how to develop positive minds that can transform our approach to daily life. You do not need to bring anything with you however we recommend that you wear comfortable clothing. Classes consist of guided meditations, a talk, and question and answer session. All meditation within these classes is done on chairs.

Where are these meditation classes held?

We currently run classes in Chorlton, Didsbury, Bolton, Prestwich, Altrincham, Stockport and the University Area (Oxford Road).
